Chili Lime Turkey Burgers

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound Ground Turkey, 93% lean
  • 4 ounce can Dìced Green Chìlìes -draìned very well
  • 1 tsp lìme zest -about 1 lìme
  • 1/2 tsp chìlì powder -make thìs a very full 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp onìon powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlìc powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prep your charcoal grìll wìth an even layer of whìte hot charcoals, or turn your gas grìll to medìum heat.
  2. ìn a mìxìng bowl, usìng clean hands, lìghtly mìx all the ìngredìents together untìl the seasonìngs and lìme zest are ìncorporated evenly. **overmìxìng wìll cause the burgers to be tough. 
  3. Kìtchen Tìp: Lìme zest can stìck to ìtself ìn one clump. Sprìnkle the lìme zest evenly over the turkey so all the zest doesn't end up ìn one burger.
  4. Form 4 equal pattìes. Usìng your thumb place a small dent ìn the mìddle of each patty. Thìs wìll prevent your burgers from shrìnkìng ìnto lìttle hockey pucks.
